MARC supports and contracts for transit services that meet the needs of the region's special populations including the aging, welfare recipients, low-income individuals or persons with disabilities. Elements of MARC's special transportation initiative are linked below:

Outlines how transit agencies, social service agencies, municipalities and other transportation providers can most efficiently and effectively work together to improve regional mobility for individuals with special transportation needs.- Job
Access and Reverse Commute Program (FTA Section 5316)
Improves mobility and economic opportunity for welfare recipients and low-income individuals by funding new or expanded transportation services. - New Freedom Program (FTA Section 5317)
Supports new public transportation services and public transportation alternatives that go beyond those required by the Americans with Disablities Act of 1990. - Transportation for Elderly and Disabled Program (FTA Section 5310)
Provides funding to support transporting the elderly and/or disabled where public transportation services are unavailable, insufficient or inappropriate.
